Amber has always been OUR dancing Queen, now the whole world is taking notice. On Tuesday night Amber Riley and her partner Derek Hough not only received 2 perfect scores for their final dances but they also won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. Throughout the whole season Amber suffered with extreme joint pain in both knees and Derek was forced to miss rehearsals due to back pains. Despite being at the top of the leaderboard for the majority of the season, there were times it looked like both Amber and Derek were too hurt to perform.
Tenacity. That is what I love about Amber the most! She identified the issues, and sought medical help, going so far as to getting needles in her knees and having the fluids drain. Both painful and uncomfortable treatments, but well worth it! Amber has admitted that there were times she was ready to give up. Luckily Derek was encouraging and very supportive, showing Amber that she had what it takes and together they could make it happen. Her love of dancing and a positive mindset allowed her to shake off those negative feelings and sashay her way right to the top!
